"Verdammt, Castle - Metal Band ist definitiv eine Band, die ich schon früher entdeckt haben sollte! Diese hart tourende Band aus San Francisco hört sich auch exakt so an - als sei sie ständig unterwegs. Manche Bands haben den Dreh einfach raus: sie tauchen irgendwo auf, nehmen den Raum, die Leute und den Sound komplett ein und sagen: "Okay, wir fackeln die Bude ab!", und tun das dann auch. DAS ist Castle. Sie gehören zu der Art Musiker, die dich vom Heavy Metal überzeugen. Sie touren um ihr neues Album "Welcome to the Graveyard", welches am 12. Juli bei Ván Records erscheint, zu zelebrieren. Vieles von ihnen ist frisch und die rechtschaffende, individuelle Mischung aus Trash, traditionellem Metal, Doom und Hard Rock spricht eine mystische, vergangene Ära an, in der Metal noch kompromisslos war, widerspricht allen Erwartungen und geht einfach für immer auf Tour! Castle sind so tief in ihrem Ding, dass ich dachte, dieses Konzert könnte überall genauso stattfinden! Sobald sie die Bühne betreten, befinden sie sich in einer trance-artigen Zone, zeihen dich zu ihnen hinein und halten diesen Zustand über die gesamte Länge des Sets - und am Ende merkt man, dass die Zeit nur so verflogen ist. Ich glaube kaum, dass man sie wirklich begreifen kann, bevor man sie live gesehen hat! Und jetzt weiss ich auch weshalb - durch ihre zahlreichen Live-Auftritte haben sie die Face-to-Face Erfahrung zwischen sich und dem Publikum perfektioniert! Ich weiss, ich bin diesem Club nun sehr spät beigetreten! Die aus Carlifornien stammende doom-getünchte Metalband Castle hat einige Festivalauftritte in den USA und Europa angekündigt, u.a. das Maryland Doom Fest (23.06.), das Malta Doom Metal Fest (19.10.) und das Doom Over Vienna (09.-10.11.), abgestimmt auf ihr im Sommer erscheinendes neues Album.
Das momentan noch namenlose 5. Album wird wieder von Billy Anderson (Sleep, Neurosis, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, Eyehategod), dem Produzenten von Castle, aufgenommen. Kritiker lobten bereits das vorangegangene Album "Welcome to the Graveyard" und das Metal Hammer UK beschrieb es als "episch, heroisch und melodisch geschmackvoll".

The Wiring is a heavy rock two combining doom and sludge influences. Founded in 2015 they started writing, working with guitars, drums and vocals only. According to the reviews their debut record "Withdrawal From Continuous Circulation" mixes influences from extreme metal, classical stoner doom and more modern metal acts, such as The Melvins, High On Fire or Black Cobra.
